Great News. Dad has been cleared to come home on Friday! He is doing great in physical therapy and they feel he can continue to do better at home. They also took the trech out today so he is officially breathing on his own!! (He is on a little bit of oxygen but that's OK). I am busy trying to get the house prepared for his arrival. Things like handles all over the bathroom and removing anything he can trip on. Dad is so excited to get home. He calls every hour with a question concerning his getting out. He is a little concerned because it has been so long but he will do great. It has been a long journey and I could not be happier to be bringing him home. Thank you all for your support and prayers. Everyone being there for us has made all the difference and has really helped me get through this hard time.

Well coming home this is so nice to hear, I know i'm not alone when i say I thought we would be putting flowers on his headstone. I do belive if it hadn't been for you (Andi) being by your dad's bed side and long day's , night's and hard work with Doc's and nurse's and hospitals he would not be here today. So Thank You for bring your dad back for all of us, Some day you will be driving along and found your self driving to the Hospital and then remember he's at home. ReplyDeleteGoing home!!!!!!! What terrific news!!!! Andi, you've been great with your Dad. I know it means the world to him. I know he is so proud of you. Not everyone has kids like you. You should be proud of yourself, as well. And Steve, you behave yourself when you get home. That means no smoking and drinking. It's time to start a new life, because the good Lord has given you a second chance. You already have a head start. I wish the best for you.
